6Rs for Reconciliation – A Guided Learning Session for Change

JHandley: “I so appreciated the opportunity to participate! This session was an excellent introduction to the 6Rs and being presented from an Indigenous perspective, my eyes were opened to seeing things in a new and different way.

Susan Climie: “The time flew by, and your atmosphere was warm, inviting, safe and inspiring.”

Claire: Thank you SO MUCH for today. You created such a safe container for us to sit with discomfort. It’s not easy to do and it speaks so much to you as an organisation and individuals! I loved how this was grounded in storytelling- I see every day at work how powerful sharing stories can be, and this was such a powerful way to present the 6rs. I feel like I’ve absorbed it all on a deeper level than I have before.

REGISTER NOW: 6RS FOR RECONCILIATION SESSION

Many people in our community ask us how they can take more active steps along the path to reconciliation. As National Indigenous History Month (June) and National Indigenous Peoples Day approaches (June 21), we want to offer an opportunity to do just that, through our 6Rs for Reconciliation session.

These small (maximum15 people) facilitated learning sessions share a framework that supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action both personally and professionally. It explores the 6Rs for Reconciliation (Respect, Relationship, Responsibility, Reciprocity, Relevance and Redistribution) from an Indigenous perspective and then invites participants to consider these Rs from their social position and lived experience, as well as what they mean in practice.

Participants come away with a greater understanding of how our shared values can activate reconciliation, through building mutually respectful understandings across cultures based on the 6Rs.

But don’t take our word for it! Previous participants said they would “highly recommend this session to others” and that the facilitators were “knowledgeable and engaging.”

There are two sessions during June and we would love to have you join us.
